BILLER – Tony, 92, Loretto, died Sept. 19, 2009, at Maple Winds Nursing Home, Portage. Born Aug. 3, 1917, in Loretto, son of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Mullen) Biller. Survived by wife of 58 years, the former Helen Farabugh, whom he married April 24, 1951, in Loretto; children, Alma Scanlan (Glenn), Gallitzin R.D.; Tony (Judy Krug), Loretto R.D.; Marie Battles (Peter), Bridgeport, W.Va.; Joe (Lisa Williams), Sankertown; and Duanne, Loretto; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and sister, Betty Gaynor, Ebensburg. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. World War II Army veteran and awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal. Worked on the track for the Pennsylvania Railroad, Cresson, for 37 years and retired in 1979. Tony lived his life his way and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Charter member of Loretto American Legion. Member of Basilica of St. Michael Catholic Church, Loretto, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Msgr. Timothy Swope, celebrant. Committal, church cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where a vigil service will be held Monday afternoon. Military rites in charge of Loretto American Legion and other local military organizations.
