Alexander Travis Hawthorn
Birth: Jan. 10, 1825
Death: May 31, 1899

Civil War Confederate Brigadier General. At the outbreak of the Civil War, he organized the 6th Arkansas Infantry Regiment and was appointed Lieutenant Colonel. He was promoted Colonel in 1862, led the 6th Arkansas at the Battle of Shiloh and was reassigned to the Trans-Mississippi Confederate Department in 1863. In February 1864, he was promoted Brigadier General and participated in the Arkansas campaigns until the close of the war. After the war, he established a career in business, moved the Texas and was ordained a Baptist minister in 1880. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
