| Birth: | Dec. 1, 1894 Denver Denver County Colorado, USA | | Death: | Sep. 26, 1918, France |  Second Lieutenant Brown was assigned to the 91st Aero Squadron and was killed in action while flying through hostile territory in France to complete an important mission. While serving as an aerial observer, his plane was shot down by German antiaircraft fire. He died in France and was originally buried in Argonne Cemetery in Romagne, France. He was moved to Fairmount cemetery in 1921. Lowry's name was first used in 1924 for an Colorado Air National Guard field. The new Lowry Field became operational in 1938. In 1948 Lowry Field became Lowry Air Force Base. The base officially closed on April 27th, 1994. In 2002 a new Elementary school opened on the property of the old base and was named the Lowry Elementary School.
