Frances E Coulter Granny 100, passed away Sunday at Ottawa Retirement Village.
Graveside services will be Friday Aug 26 at Lane Cemetery.
She was born March 7 1911 at Paola the daughter of Ray & Mary (Chaffin) Borviska
She was a cook at Tommy McAllen's Cafe in Paola, the Richmond Cafe in Richmond and the boys dorms at Kansas Univ for 11 years after leaving KU she became a caregiver for the elderly until she retired in 1996.
She loved attending yard sales and shopping at thrift stores.
Granny was instrumental in getting the stop light at ninth & Main Sts in Ottawa, she did not drive, so she walked the town to get petitions signed that allowed the city to add the light.
She also petitioned the city to keep the trees along Main ST. when they considered removing them. Again her persistence won out.
Survivors are two daughters Lila Crone and husband Orville and Janett Silvia and husband Joe, two sons Raymond and wife Rita, Robert and wife Letha. 21 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were parents, husband, son Lawrence Sims Jr & daughter Jeanie Scott.
