Katherine (Scully) Kefes married William P. Kefes Sr. at St. Francis Seraph Catholic church in Cincinnati in November 1892. The church is still extant and is located on Vine Street, now doing a lot of charity work for the poorer citizens of the area. After the death of her daughter Marie in 1915, Katherine was never the same. Her constant companion for many years was her little chihuahua named "Chiquita"-----she took the little dog everywhere with her. Katherine was a very dignified women and encouraged her granddaughter Virginia to dress well, and behave like a lady. The cause of death is listed as pneumonia and senile dementia. (Her parents John J. Scully and Katherine emigrated from Ireland, sometime in the mid-1800's.)
