HERMISTON - Esther "Louise" Lewis, 89, of Stanfield died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at Regency Hermiston Health & Rehabilitation Center in Hermiston. A private family service will be held at a later date. Disposition was by cremation.
Mrs. Lewis was born Jan. 6, 1921, in Filer, Idaho, to Denzil and Esther (Pyle) Davis. She was raised in Buhl, Idaho. She lived all over the Northwest before settling in Hermiston in 1973.
She worked as a waitress at the Dodge City Inn in Boardman and at Lamb Weston in Hermiston. She also was an unpublished poet.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by husband Charles Lewis of Stanfield; daughter Sharron Walker of Umatilla; son Denzil Boylan of Hermiston; sisters Charlene Hansen of Klamath Falls and Dallas McCaughey of Sierra Madre, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son Donald Carl Boylan; stepson Charles Lewis; and sister Eva Cossett.
