Obituary: Christi Lynn McCorkle
PORTLAND - Christi Lynn McCorkle, 59, of Hermiston died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13 at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston.
Ms. McCorkle was born May 26, 1951, in Louisville, Ky., to Kenneth and Anna Mae (Whitman) Hand. She was raised and attended schools in Kentucky. She moved to Portland in the early 1970s and then to Boardman, where she worked as a supervisor at Lamb Weston for several years and as a bartender at the Nomad and Buff-N-Brew. She then worked as a CPA in Pendleton for several years. She served as a foster parent for more than 14 years.
Survivors include daughters Stacey McCorkle and Tammy Ferguson, both of Hermiston, and Tracey Kosmos of Pasco, Wash.; sons Edwin McCorkle Jr. and Scott McCorkle, both of Umatilla, and Dylan McCorkle-Reyes and Devin Lavoie, both of Hermiston; companion Warren McLean of Hermiston; sisters Doreen Cornelius, Leanne Blair and Geneva Doyle, all of Louisville, Ky., and Kena Diggins of Pittsburgh, Pa.; brothers Gary Hand, Zachary Hand and David Hand, all of Louisville, Ky.; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
