Eleazer Albee Brock was born to David Brock and Philena Albee in Vermont in 1806.
In 1832, Eleazer married Margaretta M. Platt, the daughter of Nathaniel C. Platt. The marriage took place in Plattsburgh, New York. They had seven children between the years of 1833 and 1849: Ann Maria, Sidney Gorham, Sophia Ballou, David, Caroline, Nathanial P., and Margaretta.
Eleazer was a pioneer businessman in Cleveland, Ohio. He established and operated the first oil cloth factory and engaged in the boot and shoe business.
Eleazer Brock's family is listed in the 1850 Census of Cuyahoga County, Ohio. That census gives his birthplace as New York. The census records for 1860 and 1870, however, give his birthplace as Vermont.
