Bernard (Barney) Clark was a United States Soldier in the American Civil War from 1861 to 1865.

He enlisted on May 3rd, 1861, at New York City, New York, for two years service, at the age of twenty, and was mustered into United States service as a Private in Company K of the 9th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Hawkins Zouaves, on May 4th, 1861, at Castle Garden, New York. He served with the regiment along the Coast of Virginia and North Carolina, as well as in the campaigns of the Army of the Potomac during the battles of Sharpsburg and Fredericksburg in 1862. He returned to New York with the regiment and was mustered out of service with the Company on May 20th, 1863, at New York City, New York.

He died on March 6th, 1920, at Bath, New York, and was buried at the Bath National Cemetery in Bath, New York.
