Charles Bradley

Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He entered the service at New York, New York. He served as a Boatswain's Mate in the Union Navy. He was awarded the CMOH for action on January 10 and 11, 1863 at Fort Hindman, Arkansas. His General Order number was 11, dated April 3, 1863. His citation reads "Served on board the USS Louisville. Carrying out his duties through the thick of the battle and acting as captain of a 9-inch gun, Bradley consistently showed "attention to duty, bravery, and coolness in action against the enemy." (bio by: Don Morfe)
