MRS. LILLIAN PORTER
Mrs. Lillian Porter, 85, of Town Farm Road, Coventry Center, died yesterday in Kent County Memorial Hospital where she had been confined for three weeks.
She was born in Fort Fairfield, Me., a daughter of the late James and Almeda (Dean) Rockwell. The widow of Rufus E. Porter, she had been a Coventry resident for the past 35 years and previously had lived in Farmington Falls, Me.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Winford Webber and Mrs. Jerry Johnson, both of Coventry; two sons, Nelson of Saunderstown and Kenneth E. Porter of Washington; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson of North Kingstown; two half-sisters, Mrs. Wallace Campbell and Mrs. Rose Luther, both of Providence; a half-brother, Harry Rockwell of North Kingstown, 20 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place Friday at 2 p.m. in the Frank R. Gorton & Sons Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Anthony. Burial will be in Maple Root Cemetery, Coventry.
