Leonard Eaton passed quietly away yesterday at his home in Crescent City from a cerebreral hemorrhage after being in failing health for the past two years.
Mr. Eaton was born in Annapolis, Nova Scotia, on March 27, 1852, and his young manhood days were spent in Boston, Mass. He came to Florida in 1880 and settled at Crescent City, where he has since resided.
On September 17, 1885, he was married to Miss Mary Lillian Harp at Crescent City and three children were born of this union, two of whom survived him. He is survived by his widow, one son, Leonard Audley Eaton, of Haines City, and three step-children, Misses Norma and Lo... Eaton, and Leonard Hampton Eaton.
Mr. Eaton was an elder of the Presbyterian Church of Crescent City for many years and the oldest member of ... Lake Lodge F&AM of that city. He was universally esteemed and respected and will be sadly missed by his host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at his residence, 200 South Summit Street, Crescent City, at 4 p.m. today conducted by the Rev. Donald MacQueen, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Palatka, followed by service at the grave conducted by ... Lake Lodge F&AM of Crescent City.
