Linda was a daughter of Joseph Gibison and Margaret "Maggie" McIlvaine Gibison. Her siblings were: Ida V. Gibison Johnson, 1877–1955; George Edward Gibison; Rosella W. Gibison Waegel; Georganna Gibison Milsted; Robert Rainey Gibison; Florence M. "Madge" Gibison Smith; Lilan S. Gibison; amd six other known siblings, who died in infancy and childhood.

Linda married John S. Johnson, a son of Franklin "Frank" Johnson and Elizabeth Somers Johnson. Her sister, Ida, married John's brother, Harry Johnson. Both Johnson couples are buried in the Eglington Cemetery, as well as, Linda and John's daughter, Katie, and her husband, Harry Brooks; Linda's brother, Robert Rainey Gibison and his wife, Katherine; and Linda's sisters, Rosella W Gibison Waegel and her husband, William Henry Waegel; Florence M "Madge" Gibison Smith and her husband, Arthur M. Smith; and Georganna Gibison Milsted, and her husband, Russel Milsted.
