Rufina Parks King, 83, of Springdale, a former longtime resident of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at the Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale.
She was born Jan. 31, 1921, in Fayetteville, the daughter of Wade Hampton and Susie J. Eubanks Parks.
Rufina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was homemaker, a Baptist and member of the former White Rock Home Extension Club.
She will be greatly missed by her family and cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Loyd A. King; and an infant daughter, Karen Zoe King.
She is survived by a daughter, Kiethith Lee and husband Gerald of Springdale; three grandchildren, Melissa Lee of Siloam Springs, Michael King Lee and wife Melissa of Springhill, Tenn., and Michell Lee Hennigan and husband Dr. Stephen Hennigan of Fayetteville; a great-grandson, Cameron Lee of Springhill, Tenn.; two sisters, Wadedean Johnson of Greenland and Donna Neighbors of Cedarville; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and her many cherished friends here and across the country.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today in Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. The family will greet friends 4 to 6 p.m.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. The Rev. Glen D. Faulkner and the Rev. Gary Faulkner will officiate.
Burial will be in the Son's Chapel Cemetery.
