Birth: Feb. 7, 1850
Berlin, Germany
Death: Apr. 1, 1918

Son of Martin Luedicke & Caroline Wollgast. His parents' names are given in his 2nd & 3rd marriage records.

Ferdinand Ludeky married Emma Hartzburg on 14 March 1872 in Kane Co., IL.

Children by first wife Emma Hartzburg (c. 1853-12 Nov 1878 Aurora, Kane, IL):

Anna Ludecke, born about 1876 IL

Fred Ludecke, born about 1877 IL

F. A. Luedeke, 30, born Berlin, Prussia, married Sophia Wessendolph, 26, (daughter of Christ. Wessendolph & Sophia Steinbeck) on either 8 March 1879 (Illinois Statewide Marriage Index) or 8 March 1880, Kane Co., IL ("Illinois, County Marriages, 1810-1934," index, FamilySearch ( : accessed 01 Aug 2013).

Note: I think 1879 is probably correct, since Ferdinand & children by Emma were living with his mother in June 1880. I have not found a death record for Sophia as yet, but it certainly looks like she did not live long after the marriage.

Ferdinand A. Ludeke married Emily Midewald/Emilie Medanwald (daughter of Karl Medanwald & Minna Lang) on 1 Sep 1881 in Champaign Co., IL.

Children (by third wife "Amelia" Medenwald # 84743309):

Herbert John Luedeke (# 3729312). Note slight discrepancy in birth date - I have 4 Oct 1882 IL, name in IL church records is Herbert Johannes Heinrich Luedeke.

Charles Henry Luedeke (2 Apr 1884 Iroquois, Iroquois, IL - 15 Oct 1959 LA, CA); name in IL church records is Karl Ferdinand Heinrich Luedeke. I don't have burial info.

Walter Luedeke (# 84743785)

Edgar F. Luedecke (# 84743527)

It appears that there were 2 more children born to Amelia before Walter's birth, for whom I have no records.
