Charles Ashley is Dead

Charles Ashley, who is well known in the city and who has for several years past, resided at Silverdale and been in the employ of the Silverdale Stone Co., died at his home there at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The cause of his death is given as blood poisoning, resulting from ulcerated teeth. Mr. Ashley had been sick about two weeks. He was an old soldier and he leaves a widow and a daughter. Funeral services are to be held some time Sunday afternoon with burial in Parke cemetery, east of the city.

Also known as Samuel Jobe and there is a civil war stone for him in this cemetery. He started out as Samuel Jobe and somewhere along the line changed his name to Charles H. Ashley. He was married to a Hannah.
