John M. Neal of Albany died Friday. He was 77.
He was born in Myrtle Point, the son of John and Doris Emery Neal.
He attended school and graduated from high school in Redmond.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On Sept. 15, 1953, he married Thelma Snyder. They were married for 52 years.
He worked as a millwright for many years before retiring from Southwest Forest Industries in Albany.
Among his interests were fishing, hunting and gardening. He also was a builder and mechanic, constructing his own house.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughter, Janelle Miller of Albany, and son Wade of Albany.
A celebration of life memorial begins at 2 p.m. Wednesday at DeMoss-Durdan Garden Chapel, 815 N.W. Buchanan Ave., Corvallis.
