Ronald "Dago" DeBarba, 72, of Berryton, Kansas, formerly of the Westville-Danville, Illinois area, died at 5:45 a.m. Friday (Sept. 23, 2011) at Stormon-Vail Health Care, Topeka, Kansas.
He was born on Oct. 7, 1938 in Danville to Maurice and Martha Johnson DeBarba. His parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a stepson, Michael Watson. He began his 34 year law enforcement career in Westville, serving for a time as the Chief of Police. He then went to work at the Vermilion County Sheriff's Department, retiring with the rank of sergeant. He also worked part time at Catlin Police Department.
