BOUDREAU, Amos Gerard (Gerry) - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, pepé, and great-grandfather on Sunday, April 1, 2012 in his 85th year, at home in the care of his
family. Beloved husband of Maria, loving father of Karin and her husband Bill Doumouras, Jeannette and her husband Nicolas Canizares, and Deborah and her husband Henry Taveras, Pepé will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren Anna Maria and her fiancé Duy Nguyen, Katharina and her
husband Jason Fabbri, Ari, Alexandra, Milena, and Julia, as well as his great-granddaughter, Allegria. Gerry was born on November 17th, 1927
in Boudreauville, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. He was a veteran of both the US Merchant Marines and Canadian Merchant Navy. After WWII, he sailed
earning his Captain's papers, but left the sea after starting his family. In 1959,the family moved to Baie Comeau, QC, where Gerry worked for Cargill Grain Company. It was in the 60s that he joined the Lions Club and his devotion and commitment to the club and its causes, throughout his whole life, was unfailing. His subsequent job took him to Port-Cartier, QC, where he
managed the office for FedNav, and then finally his retirement saw him move to Niagara Falls to be closer to his family. He was a great man,
an extremely devoted father and husband, with solid beliefs and a sense of humour bar none. An organizer and spaghetti sauce maker
extraordinaire, a lover of Scotch and gadgets, but mostly he was a lover of life. No
question, he was top of the line. We would like to thank the CCAC palliative care team for their wonderful care of our father during the last weeks of his life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Niagara Falls Lions Club (Camp Dorset Fund.
Visitation will be at Patterson Funeral Home, Niagara Falls, on Tuesday, April 3rd from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Members of the Niagara Falls Lions Club will conduct a Memorial service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Church on Wednesday, April 4th, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rite of Committal to follow at Lundy's Lane Cemetery.
