His widow filed a Settlement Claim 5/26/1863 (co-signed by her father-in-law, Leonard Shannon, as witness) and was paid $113.13.
The 15th Infantry Regiment, organized in the spring of 1861 at Athens, Georgia, contained men from Hancock, Stephens, Elbert, Lamar, Warren, Wilkes, Taliaferro, and Oglethorpe counties.
