Mr. Cox was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Avery. He was retired from Red River Army Depot and Avery I n d e p e n d e n t School District, a member of Avery Church of Christ and a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Lewis Cox; two sons, Grady Cox of Avery and Billy Cox of New Boston, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Benton Storey of College Station, Texas; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Avery Church of Christ with David Ingram, Jack Dodson and Dale Stinson officiating. Burial will be in Avery Cemetery under direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. today at the church.
