John Hunt died some time after he was enumerated for the Federal Census in August 1850 in Allen County, Kentucky.If he left a Last Will and Testament it was destroyed in the 1902 courthouse fire. The exact date of his death is unknown.

Many years ago vandals destroyed all or most of the tombstones in the Harrell Cemetery in Allen Co., KY on New Roe Road. In 1966 descendants Jewel and Mildred Eubank placed a cenotaph (memorial) stone there for John, Mary and several other relatives whose tombstones had been vandalized.

Parents: May have been Ann Hanson and Thomas Hunt.

Spouse: John married Mary about 1795, probably in South Carolina as that is where their first four children were born. Mary's maiden name may have been Jarvis.
