Alston Frank 'Flip' Arnoult of 1292 Court, manager of a newsstand at the Wm Len Hotel for 13 years died about 7 a.m. yesterday enroute to Methodist Hospital. He was 72. Mr. Arnoult was driving south on Claybrook yesterday morning, police said, when his car struck a parked auto and veered into the path of an oncoming vehicle driven by John H. Self, Jr. of 4123 Print. Officers said the impact was light and Mr. Arnoult got out of hs car, talked with Mr. Self, then left to call police. Mr. Self found him lying unconscious on the sidewalk a few minutes later and a Medic ambulance took Mr. Arnoult to Methodist Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Before operating the newsstand Mr. Arnoult had been a fireman 33 years and had driven for several chiefs. He had not missed a day at the newsstand in his 13 years there, a company official said. A lifelong Memphian, Mr. Arnoult was a Catholic and a member of the Elks Club. One of his sons, Capt. Carl A. Arnoult, was killed in action in Japan during World War II.
