James "Old Jim" Crawford
Birth: 1776
Death: 1864

Son of William & Margaret Crawford, native of Ireland. One of the first settlers in the community, James Crawford along with John Hayes donated 10 acres in which the city of Gamaliel was founded.

Married Ann Hibbit around 1797 in Green County, Tennessee.

James was a blacksmith.

James Crawford served with Andrew Jackson during the War of 1812. He served as a private in Capt. William Berryman's Company C Infantry, 3rd Regiment (Miller's) Kentucky Detached Militia. He began his service on September 1, 1812 and it expired on December 25, 1812. His term of service was 3 months, 25 days at $6.66 per month. He received $25.33 for his service.

John CRAWFORD .. b: 20 June 1816, d. ? married Frances Howard.
Samuel CRAWFORD .. b. 6 June 1820, d. 3 July 1866 married Nancy Pinckley.
