From The Butte Miner, September 9, 1923:
"One of Butte's youngest businessmen is M. H. Schwartz, who is an active partner of the Strafford Clothes Shop, which is admirably situated on one of Butte's main business arteries affording easy access to a great many people who look to his concern to take care of their wants in clothing and furnishing line. Associated with him is Mr. Gronfein.
Mr. Schwartz for over three years has been engaged in commercial endeavor in Butte. He is a native of Washington, D.C. though since coming to the Treasure State the lure of our mountains and water has won him until he thinks and cordially expresses that belief that "Montana is rightly named the Treasure State. I believe that a multitude of opportunities abound for the newcomer, who is diligent and willing to put forth an effort. Ever since I have been in Butte, it has been a genuine pelasure to meet this spelendid class of people who are so courteous and generous".
Mr. Schwartz is in charge of the buying of furnishings and is on the job all the time taking advantage of the market thus passing on to a large list of customers many exceptional bargains. He is a consistent believer in our possibilities and gives both in time and money to any public worthy enterprise. He is affiliated with the Shriners as a member of the Local Bagdad."
