DOUGLAS ENGLISH
DOUGLAS MURRAY ENGLISH of Moose Jaw and formerly of Hearne/Avonlea, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 25th, 2001. Doug is predeceased by his parents, Clara and Okel English of Hearne, Saskatchewan. He is survived by his wife, Catharine, son, Doug (Angie) and their boys, Chris and Chad - all of Regina, daughter, Pat (Julian) Chinski and their boys, Jarrod, Shane and Brent - all of Weyburn, and daughter, Laurie (Guy) Renaud and their children, Sara and Johnny - all of Moose Jaw, a brother, Bob (May) of Moose Jaw and a sister, Ione (Tony) Wagner of Maple Ridge, B.C. Doug was born January 7, 1931 at Rouleau, Saskatchewan. He was raised in the Hearne district, later farming in the area. Doug and Cathy lived in Avonlea for many years and moved into Moose Jaw in 1975. Besides farming, Doug worked for many years for Digicon Oil out of Calgary and Houston. His work took him to many places in Canada and abroad, always returning with souveniers for the kids and lots of pictures and stories for friends and family. He was a quiet, kind and honest man, going out of his way to help in whatever way he could. Respecting Doug's wishes, there will be no funeral, friends and family will gather for a graveside service at the Sunset Cemetery on Wednesday, March 28th, 2001 at 1:30p.m. Those wishing to attend may meet at the Sunset Cemetery entrance at 1:25p.m. Following the cemetery service, family and friends will gather at the Eagles Club Hall for a time of fellowship and further reflection. Flowers are most gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Moose Jaw Humane Society, 1755 Stadacona St. W., Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 7K7 or to the charity of your choice.
