Mrs. Bessie Deyo (nee, Elliott) of Extendicare Preston in Saskatoon, passed away suddenly July 27, 2001 at St.Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon. Bessie was born January 25, 1920 and raised in Caron, Sask. She married Harold Deyo in, 1939 and they resided in Moose Jaw for most of their married life. Bessie was an active member of the Royal Purple, being Honorary Lady and a lifetime member. Following Harold's death in 1988, Bessie moved to Kelowna to live with her daughter, Marge. In April this year Bessie moved to Saskatoon to be close to her son, Stan and family. Bessie is survived by her daughter, Marge, son-in-law, Vern of Kelowna; son, Stan, daughter-in-law, Carrol; three grandchildren: Dan, Beverly ( Alvin ) Jamieson; and Nicole Deyo; great-grandchildren: Jessica Deyo, Katie and Brandon Jamieson; brothers: Jack Elliott, Bob (Gladys) Elliott of Lethbridge; sister, Ruth Walsh of Mission, B.C.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bessie was predeceased by her parents George and Mary Elliott; her husband, Harold; brothers: Max and Wes Elliott; sisters: Maisy Vogelsang and Lena Quibel. Funeral Services will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Chapel on Wednesday August 1, 2001 at 1:30 pm. Bob Parker of the Church of Christ, Saskatoon will officiate. Interment will follow at the family plot, Sunset Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends Wednesday morning 10:00 to 11:00 at the Funeral Home. In living memory of Bessie, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley Parkland by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
