Military information: Horace enlisted for Civil War army serice in Company E, 128th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Dec. 18, 1863. He died of typhoid fever while on duty on Johnson's Island(Ohio) prisoner of war stockade for Confederate officers in Sandusky Bay off Lake Erie. The closest present-day municipality is Marblehead, Ohio.
