Mr. Hazel Grady (Sonny) Boltin died Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Augusta V A Hospital. Funeral services were held at Platt's Crawford Avenue Chapel with Reverend Eryn Eubanks officiating. Burial was in Westover Memorial Park.
Grady was born June 18, 1934 in Allendale, SC, but has been a resident of Augusta since 1935. He was a 1951 graduate of Richmond Academy and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Social Lodge #1 F&AM. He was very active in the Augusta ARC, and a member of the Lake Park Baptist Church. Grady spent his working life in the auto parts business and retired from NAPA in 1999.
He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Louise Ivey, his sister, Nona Pearl Boltin, his father, Eugene Hazard Boltin and his mother, Pearl Christine Kearse. Grady is survived by his brother, "Bob" James Robert Boltin and wife Billie, residents of Gonzales, LA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
