Son of Elton Winfred Blakeslee and Florence Gertrude Buffin/Buffum; Husband of Dorothy Maella Sturdiant on Oct 5, 1940. Arthur had 7 siblings; Worked on Great Lakes Ore Boats from the time he was 15 yrs till age 29. During WWII he worked the CC Camps. Retired from 22 yrs at Baldwin Bros. Builders as a Dump Truck Driver. Left 5 children; Norman "Gene" Blakeslee, Gerald Alan Blakeslee (1943-1943), Jacquelynne "Jaci" Ruth Blakeslee Birkner Burek, Carole Florence Blakeslee and Ronald Charles Blakeslee. Also had his own Hauling business "Art's Hauling". Married to Dorothy 53 yrs at his demise; Died at Home in Erie from Heart Disease and Emphysemia at age 76 yrs 7 mos & 7 days.

ARTHUR L. BLAKESLEE, Had retired from Riley Stoker Co.
Arthur L. Blakeslee, 76, 2207 French Street., died Tuesday, November 30, 1993 at Saint Vincent Health Center following a long illness. A resident of Erie most of his life, he was born in Elgin, PA., on April 23, 1917, a son of the late Elton and Florence Buffin Blakeslee.
Mr Blakeslee had worked at the Riley Stoker Co., for a number of years and retired in 1973. Previously, he had worked as a truck driver for the Baldwin Brothers Builders for 23 years.
He was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Alan Blakeslee; a brother, Cleon Blakeslee; and a sister Betty Elliot.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy M. Sturdivant Blakeslee; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Jacquelynne) Burek of Florida and Carole F. Blakeslee of Erie; two sons, Norman Gene Blakeslee of Florida and Ronald Blakeslee of Erie; two brothers, Richard and Oliver Blakeslee of Tennessee; a sister, Gertrude Black of Cambridge Springs; 12 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Avenue handled the arrangements and burial was in Wales Cemetery, Greene Twp., Erie, PA.
