Born July 17, 1914, she was a native of Guilford County, the wife of George H. Pritchett who survives and the daughter of the late Thomas and Lydia Sallie Lindsay Wakefield.
She was a retired home economics teacher at Altamahaw-Ossipee School, a member of Berea Christian Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the choir and served as church secretary for over 50 years. She was a graduate of Woman's College of UNC, was a charter member of the A-O Extension Homemakers Club where she served as president for several years, a 4-H Club leader and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was very active in her community and church.
Survivors include her husband, George H. Pritchett of the home; sons, Thomas W. Pritchett of Elon and Edgar H. Pritchett and his wife Bonnie of Elon; daughter, Lydia P. Brincefield and husband Bill of Charlotte; special grandson, Kent T. Pritchett and wife Kevyn of Apex; grandchildren, Andy, Neal and Sallie Brincefield, Amy Willoughby, Mark Somers and Stephanie Pritchett; great grandchildren, Jonah, Julian, Evan, Abby, Emma, Heather and George; brother-in-law, James G. Pritchett and wife Peggy of Albany, GA. She was the last survivor of 9 children.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday July 18, 2007 at Berea Christian Church by Rev. Bland Leebrick, Jr. Interment will follow in Berea Church Cemetery.
