Hortense McKinnon Davis 95, died March 23, 1998 in Burlingame Calif. of conditions incident to her age.

She was born November 11, 1902 in Randolph, Utah to Archibold [sic] and Elizabeth Hoffman McKinnon. She graduated from Randolph High School and attended University of Utah.

She married Elmer Thomas Davis, who was an artist, on Sept 11, 1924 in Salt Lake City. The couple moved to San Francisco, California.

Her husband's profession in Advertising gave them the opportunity to live and work in many other major cities, including Cleveland, Ohio, New York City, and Hollywood, California.

Her husband died in 1959, in Buena Park, Calif. After his death, Hortense moved to San Francisco and was living in South San Francisco at the time of her death.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She loved the church. Her church positions included a stake mission in the Los Angeles Stake and service as a temple worker in the Oakland Temple.

Hortense is survived by her children, Elmer Jr., Salt Lake City, Joann Elizabeth (Kirby), Redding, Calif., and Elaine Katherine (Barton) Orem; by her brothers, Lynn McKinnon and Gale McKinnon of Randolph, Utah, and her sister Vilate McKinnon (Lloyd), Aurora, Utah.

She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, including Kathleen Davis (Burnett) of Logan, Utah, and 41 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 12 of her brothers and sisters.

Hortense was buried March 30 next to her husband in the Hollywood Hills Unit of Forest Lawn Cemetery, Los Angeles, Calif.
