Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Thelma McKinnon Anderson, passed away March 12, 1997.
Born March 24, 1913, Price, Utah, to Archibald and Ella May Empey McKinnon. Married Gerald J. Anderson, June 17, 1937, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away August 20, 1992. Thelma was a graduate of BYU. She was an accomplished musician and had a beautiful soprano voice. Thelma was an elementary school teacher and taught music in junior high and privately. She loved to write poetry. Two of her poems are lyrics of songs in the children's LDS Sing With Me songbook. She served in many positions in her ward and stake.
Survived by two daughters, Charlene A. (Robert) Newell and Bonnie Fae Anderson, both of Salt Lake; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 15, 1997, 9 a.m. at the Cottonwood 8th Ward, 630l South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may call at the Cottonwood 8th Ward Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. Following services, March 15, 1997, there will be a viewing held at the Price 2nd Ward, 479 North 100 East from 2-3 p.m. Interment Price City Cemetery.
