Jeffrey Alexander Meacham, 15, of Black Forest died unexpectedly April 24th. Jeffrey was so loved by his family and friends and his loss will leave a hole in their hearts. In celebration of his short life, however, the family will remember his exuberance and intensity. He was a sophomore at Pine Creek High School and took many advanced computer and math classes where he excelled. He was enrolled at Pikes Peak Community College for summer classes to begin to fulfill his dream of earning an associate degree before graduating from high school. He had keen curiosity and intellect. He regaled his friends and family with imaginative stories. He loved tennis, snowboarding, and recently learned to water ski. Jeffrey also spent time in Ephrata, Washington with his mother and stepfather where he had another network of friends who loved him. Jeffrey was active in the Mormon church and served in a leadership position in Black Forest Ward. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 510. Over the past five years, Jeffrey worked hard to earn his Eagle. His Eagle project is in the final planning stage and will be completed by his friends. Jeffrey is survived by his father, Jay Meacham (Karen), of Black Forest, his mother Janet Warren (Mike) of Ephrata, Washington, sisters Jenni Heaton (Spencer), Jodie Martinez (Max), Camryn Slocum, Anna Slocum and brothers Jon Meacham, James Meacham, and J. J. Slocum. He is also survived by two grandparents and many nieces and nephews. Jeffrey's funeral will be held on Monday, 4/30, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel in Black Forest, 6950 Shoup Road. A viewing will begin at 9 a.m. with services following at 10 a.m. Jeffrey will be interred at Eastonville Cemetery. Memorial information at www.dignitymemorial.com.
