Mrs. John Byl

Mrs. Minnie Byl, 83, widow of John Byl of 196 Fayette Rd., Wayne, formerly of 1014 Madison Ave., died suddenly yesterday in St. Joseph Hospital after a long illness.

Born in The Netherlands April 7, 1876, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Antona Dijkgraaf. She came to Paterson July 4, 1896 and made her home in Wayne the past year.

She was married May 4, 1897. Her husband died June 8, 1952.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the William Vermeulen Memorial Feuneral Home, 131 Haledon Ave. The Rev. Benjamin Densel, pastor of the Free Reformed Church of Clifton, will officiate. Interment will be in Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call tomorrow 3 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. The family has requested that flowers be omitted.

Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. John (Ida) Thonus of Fair Lawn, Mrs. James (Adrianna) Maitland of Wayne and Mrs. Charles (Rose) Wisher of Paterson: eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Hans Dijkgraaf of Paterson; several nieces and nephews.
