James Jones was the son of David & Esther (Morgan) Jones.

James was one of nine children. His siblings were:

James was a farmer in White Clay Crk Hd, New Castle Co, DE. He lived 2.5 miles from this church/cemetery.

During the Revolution James was too old to serve in the militia. So on 24 Sep 1777 James signed the Oath of Fidelity to the United States.

The couple stayed in Pencader Hundred, New Castle Co, DE until they died.

An early Morgan-Jones history states that James & Susannah are buried in the Welsh Tract Church Cemetery. Today there are no markers for them, yet next to James' parents graves where many Jones are buried there are grave sites with no markers.
