Nancy (Nannie) Leger Croucher was the daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth Robinson Leger.
While much information about Nannnie is diffcult to confirm due to the many years since her death, we know that she married Elijah Franklin "Lige" Croucher and had four daughters. The youngest of these daughters was about two years old when Nannie died, in 1911, from Tuberculosis.
Records from the era are difficult to come by. It is believed that Nannie was buried "at Climax, KY" which is in Rockcastle County but the precise location of her grave has not been determined. It is possible that it was never marked or that it was marked with only a field stone. There are a number of such graves in the area of Clear Creek.
To our knowledge, Lige Croucher never re-married and raised his four daughters on his own. He died in 1962 and is buried in the Lancaster Cemetery in Garrard County, Kentucky.
