Rites Are Held
Here Monday


Millard Lee Mace, 57 year old former resident and business man of Allerton, died Saturday at his home in Fort Dodge after a lingering illness. Mr. Mace moved to Fort Dodge from here in 1920.

The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Methodist church. The Rev. H. D. Simmons officiated. Interment was made in the Allerton cemetery.

Millard Mace was born in Wayne County near Allerton February 15, 1879. About one year ago he suffered a stroke and never regained his health.

Mr. Mace was married to Eva A. McCloughan May 18, 1897 and to this union ten children were born. Except for a few years spent in South Dakota, he lived all his life near Allerton until he moved to Fort Dodge in 1920. He was engaged in the automobile business there.

When quite a young he became a member of the Methodist church. He was also a member of the Rebekah lodge, the I.O.O.F. and the Woodmen of the World.

His parents, Albert and Anna Mace preceded him in death as well as did three sisters. Left to mourn are his wife and the following children: Mrs. Beulah Kerr of Des Moines, Mrs. Thelma Mason, of Omaha; Mrs. Wilma Winterode of Fort Dodge, Max Mace of Corwith, Mrs. Ethel Benson of Allen Park, Colo., Mrs. Lucille Lagerstrom of Lanyon, Marlin, Dwight and Wanda at home.

There are also two brothers, J. E. Mace of Waterloo and R. A. Mace of Allerton; three sisters, Mrs. Oral Sparks of Clio, Mrs. Fred Lane of Clio and Mrs. Lee Caldwell of Hammond, Ind.; and ten grandchildren.

Many Attend Rites
A large delegation of out of town relatives and friends were here Monday to attend the last rites for M. L. Mace. The group were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Shriving during the noon hour.

They included Mr. and Mrs. Oral Sparks, Harold and Gerald of Clio; Mrs. Fred Lane and Vernon of Clio, R. A. Mace, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mace, Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Johnston of Gilmore City, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Mace of Wanema, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Mace of Sewal, Mrs. Kenneth Mace and Richard.
