Richard A. Mace of Allerton, Ia., died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Merritt Duden Feb. 24, 1946. Mr. Mace had been in failing health for some time.

Mr. Mace was born in Wayne county July 22, 1872, the son of Albert A. Mace and Anna Mace. On Sept. 18, 1894 he was united in marriage to Anna Bereman. Mr. Mace farmed his entire life in Wayne county, retiring in 1930 and since that time became a member of the Methodist church of Allerton. He was also a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge No. 310 of Allerton.

Mr. Mace was preceded in death by his wife in 1914 and one son, Arnold in 1944. Three sisters and two brothers also preceded him in death.

He is survived by: four daughters, Mrs. Mary Duden of Allerton, Mrs. Lizzie Shriver of Corydon, Bertha Johnston of Gilmore City, and Clara Points of Portland, Ore.; three sons, Roy and Leo of Allerton, Kenneth of Nyssa, Ore., and Mrs. Arnold Mace of Allerton; three sisters, Alberta Caldwell of Hammond, Ill., Florence Lane of Des Moines and Alice Sparks of Clio. Sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday in the Methodist church at Allerton with Rev. Johnson officiating. Burial was in Allerton cemetery.

Singers were Edward Duden, Earl Perry, Cora Shelton and Fannie Bettis. Flower attendants; Mable Shriver, Alta Marrick and Ruth Sears. Pianist Mrs. Karl Binau. Pallbearers were his nephews, Leland Mace, Roy Niday, Charles McCreary, Fredrick Lane, Cecil Mericle and Cash Watson.
