BROWN, GEORGE J., 76, of Louisville, passed away at his home Tuesday, May 10, 2011.

George retired from Hillerich and Bradsby after 40 years, where he worked as a credit manager and was the coordinator for the Deming Office. He was a charter member of St. Athanasius, member of the Flaget Alumni Association, Young Hearts, Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, recipient of the St. George Award from the Catholic Committee on Scouting and volunteer leader with Boy Scouts of America where he received the Silver Beaver Award. In addition to his many involvements he was a US Army veteran.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Ann Krisch Brown; three sons, Chris Brown (Linda), Matthew Brown (Christie) and Nicholas Brown (Lisa); granddaughters, Leah Timbo (Rich), Allison Brown and Emily Brown; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

His funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011 at St. Athanasius Church, 5915 Outer Loop, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-8 p.m. at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Heritage Council for Boy Scouts of America. Online condolences may be made at www.ratterman.com
