Barber. At the age of 82, hepassed away unexpectedly on a Sunday at his home. He was the son of the late Willis and Pearl (Kendall) Stoddard. He attended Darlington Schools and Moler Barber College in Chicago. Jim was owner of Jim's Barber Shop in Dodgeville, which he barbered from February 28, 1952, until selling his shop to Kandace Smith on March 1, 2005. He had barbered for over 55 years in Darlington, Fennimore, Monroe, Racine and Dodgeville. Jim married Ethel E. Forseth, of Dodgeville, daughter of Raymond and Seville (Harms) Forseth, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington on June 12, 1948. They were blessed with over 50 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on February 25, 2004. Jim served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II in Africa, France and Germany. He was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army Air Force in January of 1947. He served as past commander of the Dodgeville Legion Post No. 97 and was a member for over 63 years, past commander of the Dodgeville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7345, past chef de gare Iowa County 40 et 8, Chapter 1455, the Mineral Point D.A.V. Chapter 67, past county commander of Iowa County Legion and was part of founding group of Iowa County Veteran's Memorial Monument at the Iowa County Courthouse. Jim was also a past member and honorary member of the Dodgeville Fire Department and a member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church. Jim is survived by his brother-in-law, Ralph Forseth ; many other nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline in 1928; his parents; his stepfathers, Stillie Roy and Joseph Guiffre; his stepsister, Eva Rivers; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Beverly Forseth; and his father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Sevilla Forseth.
