Vada V. Allison, 86, of Amarillo died Thursday, July 5, 2007.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Bobby Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
Mrs. Allison was born Aug. 23, 1920, to James and Laura Webster in Memphis. She graduated from Memphis High School in 1938 and from West Texas University in 1944. After graduating from WT she taught at Tulia High School. She later worked as an accountant for Allender's Furniture Store in Dalhart until October 1948. While in Dalhart she met and married Aubrey Allison, and they moved to Amarillo. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Mrs. Allison was a charter member of Polk Street United Methodist Church Homebuilders' Class.
The family extends their thanks to VistaCare Hospice for the love and comfort given Mrs. Allison.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Cash; and a brother, J.D. Webster.
Survivors include a daughter, Gayle Anthony; a son, Jerry W. Allison and wife Karen; grandchildren, Julie and Scott Sandlin, Marie Anthony, Tammi and Bill, Kelli Allison, Keri and Adam Moseley and Kaci Allison; seven great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Moyra, Autumn and Joe Sandlin, Emili Toler, Terry Anthony and Laura Toler; five stepgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
The family suggests memorials be to Polk Street United Methodist Church, 1401 S. Polk St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
