Graveside services for Robert Russell Anderson Jr., 84, of Gore, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls.

Mr. Anderson was born March 10, 1924, in Sallisaw, to Robert Russell Anderson Sr. and Ona (Lamb) Anderson. He died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark.

Mr. Anderson graduated from Muskogee Central High School. Upon completing 24 years of service for his country in the U.S. Air Force and ranking as chief master sergeant, he moved his family back to Gore.

He married Mary Colleen Carter, Nov. 30, 1949, in Fort Smith. She preceded him in death, Sept. 26, 2001.

Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Mannon and her husband, Dale, of Gore; son, Gary "Squeaky" Anderson of Gore; grandchildren, Timothy Mannon of Broken Arrow, Brad Mannon of Norman, Amber Woods and her husband, Dustin, of Gore and Jonathan Mannon of New York City; great-grandchildren, Shane Mannon, Max Mannon and Christian Woods; and one sister, Rose Meeks and her husband, William Edward Meeks, of Muskogee.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Bobby L. Mannon, two sister, Freda Roye and Mary Havens and one brother, Tommy Anderson.
