Lynda Sue Van Oostendorp Gough, our beloved mother, wife, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, moved on to her next journey peacefully on March 8, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Marilyn Van Oostendorp, and her younger brother, Alan Van Oostendorp.

Lynda was born December 29, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1970 where she met her husband and lifelong sweetheart, Blaine Gough. Lynda and Blaine quickly fell in love after meeting and were married on March 6, 1970.

Shortly after, Blaine was shipped out to serve in Vietnam while Lynda waited at home for the return of her husband. They recently celebrated their forty-first wedding anniversary by taking all of their children and grandchildren on a wonderful trip to Maui, Hawaii.

In those forty-one years, Lynda dedicated her life to service of her family and everyone around her. Her thoughtfulness and generosity touched the lives of so many. Together with Blaine, she created a large beautiful family full of Love and Abundance.

Also together with her husband, she inspired a vision of beautiful quality homes and became the co-founder of Gough Construction and Gough Homes. Lynda was an avid reader and more than anything loved to cuddle up to a good book. She had so many interests and hobbies including gardening, traveling, camping, interior design, canning, cooking, entertaining, and movies.

She also loved daisies, fairies, and had a deep love and passion for animals, especially for her four dogs, Oscar, Nielsen, Tux, and Blue.

Lynda is survived by her husband, Blaine Gough, her five children, Trevor Gough, Tim Gough, Nici Gates (Randy), Trent Gough, and Mike Carlson, her two sisters and brother, Pam Petersen (Jim), Vickie Newbold (David), and Roger Van Oostendorp (Lisa), and eleven grandchildren who adore their grandma. Our mom truly is a committed stand for unconditional love. She is so very loved and truly will be missed.

A celebration of her life will be held in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), on Saturday, March 12, 2011 starting at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will follow in the Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery, 3115 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South).
