Helene Jacobson Oman passed away on Friday, February 5, 2010 in Bluffdale, Utah. She resided at 14360 South 3600 West in Bluffdale, Utah at the time of her death.
Born October 31, 1920 to Hans Andrew and Mary Estelle Jacobson in Altonah, Utah.
Married James Jennis Oman on November 29, 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Helene was an example of courage, steadfastness, and faith in her Savior Jesus Christ and led a life of friendship and service to others.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she served in many capacities throughout her life but had especially choice experiences as Relief Society President in the Mountain View First Ward and serving on the Hillside Stake Relief Society Board. She and Jim fulfilled an honorable mission to Palmyra, New York, and worked in both the Provo and Jordan River temples. Her most cherished life long contribution was fierce love for her family as a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Helene is survived by her loving husband, children; Gloria Berg, Shauna (Harold) Bell, Roland (Vonnie) Oman; seventeen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by siblings Chal Dean, Ferril, Lavera, and Gerald, and grandson David Oman.
A viewing will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT, on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bluffdale Seventh Ward Chapel, 14650 South 3200 West, where friends and family may call from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
