|Birth: ||Mar. 27, 1776, Austria|
|Death: ||Nov. 25, 1828|
He was born in a section of Austria that changed boundries which made his birth location appear as Prussia, Austria or Germany. His naturalization papers (1813) list his birth location as Austria. He appears to have entered this country in 1796. He served in the War of 1812. He and his wife migrated to the Perry Co., Ohio area from Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania area. His wife was Susannah Marchand, daughter of Frederick and Christina (Harmon) Marchand. Both are buried in the New Reading Cemetery. Most of their children are probably buried in between them, as there is a large space between their stones. Their stone lists them as the parents of 13 children.
His descendants spelled their surname "Speice", to maintain the pronunciation of the name.
This couple are my ggg-grandparents.
