†His residence in 1860 was in Clay Township, Hamilton County, but with a Zionsville, Boone County mailing address. He was probably still a Hamilton County resident when he enlisted. His parents were living in Clay Township when the census was taken. His father, Joseph, was born in North Carolina. The rest of the family was born in Indiana. They were listed as follows: Joseph Hussy, age 44, farmer; Sarah Hussy, age 39; John, age 20, labour; William, age 18; Martha, age 15; Mary, age 14; Elizabeth, age 11; Hariet, age 9; Thomas, age 7; and Rachel; age 5. For some reason, his 1 year old brother, Franklin, was not listed.
