Oswell D. Evans enlisted Feb. 27, 1864 in Co. C, 110th Regiment of PA Volunteers during the Civil War. On March 2, 1864, shortly after enlisting, Oswell married Isabella 'Belle' Baker (1846-1935) at Philipsburg, Pa. She was the d/o Abraham Price Baker and Ann Eliza Kidd. Sadly, Oswell died that October at Campbell Hospital, Washington, DC, of dysentery.

Belle married another soldier the following year, Alfred De Calvus Fairbanks (1843-1899), who was a member of Co. E, 2nd Regiment of the US Sharp Shooters. They resided in Austin, Minn.
