Guerald Simpson was the second citizen of the City of East Point, GA, to perish in WWII of the many that eventually did.
He was captured by the Japanese and was imprisoned at the infamous "Mitsushima POW camp." Due to lack of empathy on the part of the camp guards and the absences of appropriate medical treatment, he died of dysentery on April 7, 1943.
