Mrs Dathula Day, 80, died Monday, March 31, at Cedarhouse Nursing Home after seven years of failing health.
The daughter of Charley Overall and Charlotte (wan) Lyles she was born February, 2, 1889 in Douglas, She taught school for nine years and served as postmistress at Chase for nine years. March 29, 1911 she a d Harley Day were married in Miami County.
Mrs Day who has been a resident of Ottawa since 1962, was a member of Methodist Church and a 25 year member of Kincail Chapter no 455 Order of Eastern Star.
Funeral services were held Thursday April 3, for Mrs Dathula Lyles Day at the Union Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul W. Pentz and Rev. Howard Sanders officiating. Music was provided by Mrs R.L. Stevens Pianist and Mrs A.H. North, soloist. Pallbearers were Gerald B. Harford, Melvin L. Sellers, Clarence Rea, R.Lee Finch, J.W. Taylor and Franz Aubry, Eastern Star services were conducted by Union #15. Burial in Osawatomie Cemetery. Dengel & Son was in charge of arrangements. She is survived by two daughters Mrs June Lutz, and Mrs Jessie May Harrison.

Everett, Mr Cleo E. Stone, Marvin Ticheig, Mr & Mrs Wallace Shaw, Mrs Lucille Jackson and Melissia Jackson, Mr & Mrs George Harrison, Loretta and George Hailey, and Miss Diana Day Harrison.
